Encaustic Influence

This project is about the forest and the small splashes of color and detail that provide the emotion and the feeling to the scene. Each of the four seasons has their own characteristics. The summer in full bloom, hides much of the details under a sea of green. The winter, by contrast, is fully open for us to see all that was hidden during the summer. This project begins with the fall season. The forest is transitioning from life and activity, to a period of sleep. In this transition we find glorious colors that appear as the forest opens itself for us to see. Its contrasting season is the spring will reverse direction, and transition to a beautiful flowering sea of green and life.

This project is with reference to encaustic painting and the delicate textures which add to the ebb and flow of the woods.
